PetroVietnam aims for 15 million tons of crude in 2010 (08/09/2009)

Vietnam Oil & Gas Group, known as PetroVietnam, said it plans to produce 15 million tons of crude oil next year.

The state-owned group has set a target of exporting 9.43 million tons of crude in 2010 and shipping some five million tons to the Dung Quat oil refinery in the central province of Quang Ngai.

Though this year’s export volume is tipped to beat the target by five percent and reach 15.85 million tons, lower oil prices will cut the revenue to US$6.9 billion, down 40 percent compared with last year, PetroVietnam said.
