12,744 poor households to be supported houses (02/07/2009)
 
Thousands of the poor are in need of housing assistance

Quang Ngai Chairman Nguyen Xuan Hue has just approved project of supporting 12,744 houses for the poor in rural areas throughout the province during 2009-10.


The support is in line with Decision No. 167/2008/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister dated December 12, 2008 on housing assistance for the poor.


As planned, 10,376 households shall be assisted in 2009.


Beneficiaries are ethnic minorities, policy families, and the poor living in remote, rural and unsafe regions throughout the province.


Total fund for the project is estimated at VND 305 billion (over USD 17 million)
