Quang Ngai is to hold an International Science Workshop to mark 100 years of discovering and studying Sa Huynh relics and culture, Deputy-Director of Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism Nguyen Dang Vu said on 26th June.
The workshop is expected to welcome hundreds of leading professors and scientists in the world and nation wide, Mr Vu said.

Sa Huynh relics were found by French archaeologist M.Vinet in 1909 in Sa Huynh village, Pho Thanh Commune, Duc Pho district. This is the large area of jar graves of Sa Huynh culture residents, which dated back to over 2500 – 3000 years from now. The jar coffins, egg-shaped or prism-shaped, about 1 m high, were densely buried. Inside the jars were buried many articles such as tintinabulous bells, bracelets, iron knives, axes, agate chains, nephrite, earrings, ceramic wares like pans, bowls, vases decorated with diverse designs.
The three-day workshop is to start on 22nd July 2009.
