Quang Ngai Government has just approved poverty reduction projects for upland districts in accordance with Resolution 30a/2008/NQ-CP, the statement was made in recent upland-district-leader- meeting chaired by Quang Ngai Chairman Nguyen Xuan Hue.
Resolution No. 30a/2008/NQ-CP about quick and stable poverty reduction program in 61 poor provinces through out the country was issued by the Government on 27 December, 2008.
In Quang Ngai, the Resolution is to be implemented in six highland districts of Ba To, Minh Long, Tra Bong, Son Ha, Son Tay and Tay Tra.
Under Resolution No. 30a/2008/NQ-CP, Quang Ngai targets decreasing rate of the poor under 40% by 2010.
As briefed by Department of Planning and Investment (DoPI), district authorities have co-ordinated with relevant departments and agencies to work out activity plans, projects and programs for approval.
So far, five projects for districts of Son Tay, Ba To, Minh Long, Son Ha and Tra Bong have been accepted by Quang Ngai Government.
Total fund for applying the Resolution in province within 11 years (2009-2020) is estimated around VND 24.3 trillion (over US$1.3 billion), DoPI said.
