  Largest tanker Made in Viet Nam to be launched in June 2009 (16/02/2009)

Made-in-Vietnam-largest tanker namely Dung Quat No.1 is to be launched in June 2009 for transporting crude oil of Dung Quat Refinery, which comes on stream in 22nd Feb.

The 104,000 DWT tanker, building in Dung Quat Shipyard, has todate covered 75% of total workload.

According to Dinh Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industrial Zone, some key engineers were sent to be trained in the best companies and countries in the field of shipbuilding, such Poland and South Korea.

As said by Mr Dung, so far an amount of over VND 4 trillion has been invested in upgrading Shipyard’s infrastructure and purchasing hi-teach & modern equipments

Currently, over 3000 engineers have been pushing up the construction on schedule.

Reportedly, the company is going to construct an even bigger ship with a capacity of 105,000 tonnes.
