Quang Ngai Provincial Government has recently submitted to Vietnam’s Ministry of Health a proposal to upgrade its Dang Thuy Tram Hospital into a regional genneral hospital for the southern part of the province.
As per the proposal, the existing 120-bed hospital is expected to be built up into a well-equipped 350-bed one with total land area of 30,000 m2 instead of 20,000 m2 now, which is capable of providing treatment and health services for people in the southern part of Quang Ngai.
Dang Thuy Tram Hospital, formerly called Duc Pho District Health Centre, was named after a Hanoi-born woman doctor who had served and died at a military health station in Pho Cuong, Duc Pho during the Vietnam War to honour this heroine.
