Over VND 800 million has been raised via music performace and rendezvous called “Agony and Life” which took place on 10 August 2008, Day for Dioxin Victims, in Quang Ngai City and was covered live by Quang Ngai Television (PTQ).
The concert was an initiative by Quang Ngai Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/ (QN VAVA) and got supports and involvements from various organizations and individuals nationwide. Some celebrities and famous singers did participate in the concert, drawing much attention from the public, and therefore, making the amount raised higher.
Earlier, QN VAVA has conducted a fund-raising campaign among the public for the victims.
Quang Ngai is reported to have over 47,000 people with disability, about one third of whom are allegedly affected by Agent Orange/Dioxin.
