Vice-Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People Committee Truong Ngoc Nhi has just chaired Vietnam Land Administration Project (VLAP) Provincial Steering Committee Meeting, officially beginning this project in Quang Ngai.
VLAP aims at increasing access to land information services by all stakeholders through development of an improved land administration system. Such a system is considered to be an essential public good to be provided by the Government of Vietnam and is embedded in the government's responsibility to guide and regulate a continuation of sustainable economic and social development.
The project is scheduled a fund of 100 USD, of which the Word Bank is undertaken to finance 75 million USD to implement in 9 provinces of Ha Tay, Thai Binh, Hung Yen, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Tien Giang, Bến Tre, Vĩnh Long.
Quang Ngai, one of nine selected provinces, is allocated a fund of 209.3 billion dong (12.9 million USD) to develop the project in 14 province’s districts with a duration of 5 years from 2008-13.
With the amount, this central province, as scheduled, is to map 77,800 ha in Tu Nghia, Nghia Hanh, Ba To, Minh Long, Son Ha, Son Tay, Tra Bong, Tay Tra, Ly Son and Quang Ngai City.
In addition, Quang Ngai is to enumerate and grant 605,200 land-used certifications and work out data for over 2 million plots of land in 14 districts.
