Dung Quat Shipyard is to invest 25 billion dong in building worker’s accommodations in Doc Soi, Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai Province, Deputy-General Director of Dung Quat Shipyard Dinh Tien Dung recently said.
Two 4-floor buildings to cover 5 ha in the zone shall accommodate upto 2000 workers, Dung said.
The Shipyard has to date provided 50 lodgings for its hundreds of workers.
Dung Quat Shipyard, a member of Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (VINASHIN) and the third large-scale investor in Dung Quat site, is pushing up building the Vietnam first largest AFRAMAX crude oil tanker under the name of Dung Quat 1 worth US$56 million. The tanker is expected to hand over to investor of VINASHIN early 2009 for the sake of oil transportation.
