Technip Consorsium, the main contractor for Dung Quat Refinery Project has on 11 July 2008 successfully installed the single-point mooring (SPM) of EPC Package 4.
SPM, 10m tall, 12m in diametre, of 360 tons, is designed under French technology as an offshore wharf-free station for crude oil to be pumped into the refiner through a pipeline system.
The SPM, which can be accessible for oil tankers of upto 110,000 DWT, has its designed capacity of transporting some 6,000 m3 of crude oil per hour.
The SPM is scheduled to operate by the end of this month firstly to pipeline diezel oil for the power station, then crude oil for the planned refinery test run in December 2008.
