Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Council (QNPPC) closed its session 16 (term 2004-2009) on 11 July 2008, passing some significant resolutions.
In one of its resolutions, most of the QNPPC delegates agreed on cutting down the province’s 2008 economic growth to 11-12% instead of the planned 14-14.5% due to fast-growing inflation and economic stagnancy.
Proposal on adjustment of land boundaries for and establishment of some new communal-level administrative units in the province’s two mountainous districts of Ba To and Son Tay were also ratified by the QNPPC in this session.
Other passed resolutions were related to a number of fees charged for land-use certification, EIA appraisal, exploration of underground water, and others.
Questioning session was reported to have been conducted in a democratic and transparent manner.
