US DIPLOMAT VISITED QUANG NGAI (11/07/2008)

 
American NGO in Quang Ngai, Madison Quakers Inc planted trees at the Peace Park in Tinh Khe commune

The US Consulate General Deputy Principal Officer Angela Dickey to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has yesterday 10 July 2008 paid a courtesy call on Quang Ngai Government leaders during her 2-day trip to this province.

 

In the said meeting, Angela Dickey had an information gathering talk with Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee’s Vice-Chairwoman Dinh Thi Loan, offering to work as bridge to connect US investors with the province.

 

Madam Loan and representatives from various relevant departments of the province provided their guests with information and data reagrding Quang Ngai socio-economic development as well as its plan for future.

 

Angela Dickey and her companions thanked the province’s hospitality granted to the mission, highly appreciated socio-economic achievements Quang Ngai had gained over the past years, especially in the area of poverty reduction.

 

Earlier in the morning the same day, the US Deputy Consul General had toured the Dung Quat Oil Refinery site, the first ever in the country under construction and expected to operate some time late in February 2008, and met with the refinery project Management Board at site.
