Quang Ngai Government in a bid to deal with the upcoming rainy season has just installed 6 ICOMs funded by Ford Foundation in some seaside communes in districts of Duc Pho and Ly Son, driving the total up to 12, said by Truong Quang Viet, Director of Dept. Agriculture and Rural Development.
According to Mr. Viet, the equipment is under program of safe fishing donated by Ford Foundation with a fund of USD $ 50,000 and duration of two years 2006-08.
Quang Ngai has so far had 27 ICOMs for the sake of over 4000 operating fishing-boats.
