Quang Ngai Government has just proposed a 2,400 MW thremo-electrict plant with total estimated investment capital of USD 2.59 billion to locate in Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai province, according to PPC Document’s No.1535/UBND-CNXD dated 3rd June 2008.
Dung Quat Thremo-Electrict plant with 4 generator sets designed to generate an annual output of round 15.600 GWh will be invested by Sai Gon-Dung Quat Investment & Development Joint Stock Company.
The plant to include steam-boiler, turbine and dynamo is projected to input F.O and 5.2 ton of coal a year imported from Australia and Indonesia.
As the plan goes, the first generator set will complete and put into operation in 2015, and all four sets to be integrated into the national grid, ensuring the power for Dung Quat Economic Zone by 2019.
