MQI COMPASSION HOUSES IN QUANG NGAI (25/06/2008)

Mike Boehm, founder of Madison Quakers, Inc in Quang Ngai

Madison Quakers Inc. (MQI), a US non-profit humanitarian organization headquartered in Wisconsin’s capital city of Madison, has recently granted an amount to build 10 compassion houses, about VND 20 million each, for Quang Ngai’s poor dioxin victims.

The said 10 houses are expected to have been completed some time by September this year, just prior to the rainy season which frequently comes to Quang Ngai Province with storms and floods.

It is estimated that some 13,000 households across the province are living in very poor-conditioned houses that Quang Ngai Provincial Government have set as top priority to assist before 2010 by any sources of funding.

MQI has deep-rooted in Quang Ngai for over a decade with a wide variety of assistance programs and activities, ranging from building schools, health stations, kindergartens, compassion houses to micro-credit activities and other cultural exchanges.
