Quang Ngai-Quang Ngai Department of Educationand Training said some 22,000 candidates shall compete for 10,250 seats in the province’s all state-owned high schools for the academic year of 2008-2009.
There are, according to the latest statistic, 18 state-owned high schools throughout the province, which can marely accommodates about half the total students. And therefore, those fail the high school entrance exam have to seek for semi state-owned or private schools which are assumed to performs poorer quality.
In Vietnam, after completing lower secondary school, those students want to go to high school have to pass a selection exam which is annually held some time late June.
This year candidates in Quang Ngai are to pass the exam in the three subjects of mathematics, literature and history.
