Newly-elected vice Chariman Truong Quang Thich, in his recent online meeting with The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said in 2008 Quang Ngai would allocate 110.36 billion dong (around $ 6.8 million) for fishermen in accordance with Vietnamese PM’s Decision No. 289/QĐ-TTg dated 14th March 2008.
As revealed by Thich, the amount is expected to support fishermen buying oil, insurances for fishing-boats, labourers, and building new vessels as well.
Quang Ngai as reported currently has 4,447 ships of different kinds with 25,326 labourers,
