Tinh Hoa Safe Habour, a refuge and facility for local fishing boats, is scheduled to be inaugurated and put into operation on 14 June 2008.
This habour has been started construction since February 2006 as a natural disaster mitigation infrastructure demonstration embedded in Australia-funded A$ 14.9 million project named Quang Ngai Natural Disaster Mitigation mobilized in early 2003.
The habour is designed and constructed to provide safe refuge for fishing vessels during floods and typhoons, and also a facility to function as an operational fishing boat habour during periods of normal weather. It is expected to accommodate at least 300 vessels in the normal mooring layout.
Tinh Hoa Harbour has been so far almost completed with its development area of 10ha including a water area of 6.5ha.
