In response to the looming outbreak of the avian flu and foot and mouth disease and Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) which has been casting a shadow over the province’s livestock, Quang Ngai Department of Animal Health has put forward its inoculation plan for the animals for 2008.
As the said plan says, the vaccination against the bird flu shall be started on 10 May 2008. Some 1.2 million poultry are anticipated to be immunized this time, apart from over 200,000 others to be given the secon shot.
The vaccination against the foot and mouth is scheduled to take place in this coming June; and some 333,000 animals shall be inoculated.
The Provincial Department of Animal Health reveals they shall also vaccinate domestic pets against rabies some time this month across the province.
