 Drowning Chinese fisherman saved (22/04/2008)

Ship QNg 96247-TS anchored off the island district of Ly Son in central coastal Quang Ngai province on April 20, bringing ashore 15 fishermen saved from drowning as storm victims.

Survivors included a Chinese fisherman, who said his name was Wu Shou Li, born in 1984 and from the
Hainan island, China , the centre of storm Noguri.

Li also said his fishing ship, carrying a crew of 22 and the license board of 010270, was overturned by storms on April 18.

He added that he was saved by a Vietnamese fishing boat which itself was later also capsized by storm Noguri and that he didn’t know about the fate of his teammates.

Li was brought to the border guard station on the island Ly Son district for first aid and personal supplies.

The Chinese fisherman now physically recovers and the procedure for his repatriation is underway for a soonest possible return home, said local authorities.
