OVER 500 HOUSEHOLDS TO BE RESETTLED (18/07/2007)

 
One to be relocated

Quang Ngai province - As a report by Department of Agriculture and Rural Development read following its recently found survey results, there are approximately 45 erosional sites in the residential areas alongside the rivers of Tra Bong, Tra Khuc, Tra Cau and Song Ve, directly threatening 2,700 households who are living in the aforesaid erosion-prone areas.

 

Department of Agriculture and Rural Development revealed of the mentioned 2,700 households 525 are to be urgently resettled prior to the upcoming storm and flood season for their safety. In addition, riverbank works that are at the moment under construction must be pushed up with their schedules just ahead of rainy season.

 

Reportedly, Quang Ngai Provincial Government has recently earmarked an amount of more than VND 4 billion for construction of 08 resettlement areas for the people in risk move in this coming typhoon season.
