Over 80 percent of Viet Nam’s population will be information technology literate by 2020. According to a plan drafted by the Ministry of Post and Telematics, students at all grade levels will be taught IT.
IT training at universities in Viet Nam will also be carried out in accordance with international standards.
Upon graduation, IT students will have acquired both the language skills and professional knowledge they will need to join the global human resource market.
By 2015, Viet Nam’s university level IT programs will have reached ASEAN quality standards and 80 percent of graduating students will be capable of working anywhere in the world.
As many as 80 percent of the country’s workforce will be capable of using computer-based IT applications by 2015.
The plans also claim the country will have 535,000 employees with good IT skills, 1,000 will hold PhDs and master’s degrees and many will work for governmental organizations and research institutes.
Some 22,000 IT and telecommunications teachers will be trained for universities and colleges, with 5,000 of them holding PhDs and 10,000 master’s.
38,000 IT teachers will teach in public schools at every grade level.
All teachers and instructors will be able to apply IT in their instruction by 2015.
