 Vietnam to buy Microsoft software (22/03/2007)

During Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem’s recent visit to the US, representative of the Ministry of Post and Telematics signed a memorandum of understanding with Microsoft in Washington.

 

This cooperation memorandum of understanding was signed under the witness of Deputy PM Pham Gia Khiem, Chairman of the ASEAN - US Trade Council and over 200 American businessmen, according to sources from the Ministry of Post and Telematics.

 

Under this memorandum of understanding, this May the Ministry of Post and Telematics will represent the Vietnamese government to sign a contract buying software copyright of Microsoft to use in government agencies within three years.

 

In addition, Microsoft will assist the ministry to develop e-government and it will set up IT training centers in Vietnam.
