There were seven teams participating in the Contest. They
come from the Provincial Ethnic Minority Boarding High School and the districts
of Son Tay, Tay Tra, Tra Bong, Ba To, Minh Long and Son Ha.
Each team performed a skit for about 15 minutes. The main
content of performance acts presented
the harmful effects of early marriage and consanguineous
marriage; praising the examples of good people and deeds as well as
good practices in preventing and combating early marriage and consanguineous marriage among ethnic minority groups.
entries were carefully prepared by the participants, reflecting vividly and
closely with the customs and traditions in ethnic minority areas in the mountainous
districts of the province.
As a result, the
Organizing Board awarded the first prize to the team of Tra Bong district and
two the second prizes to two teams of Son Ha and Minh Long.
A performance act at the Contest
contest aimed to raise awareness of officials, prestigious people of ethnic
minorities and local people about the harmful effects of early marriage and
consanguineous marriage, contributing to minimizing this status among ethnic
minority areas in the province.
According to statistics
from the Provincial Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, from 2011 to 2017,
there were over 1,200 cases of early marriages in the whole province. The
highest number recorded in the districts of Ba To (337 couples), Son Ha (327)
and Son Tay (170).
