Launch Consumer Rights Day 2019

​On March 14, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tang Binh attended the Launching Ceremony of Vietnam Consumer Rights Day in 2019.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tang Binh emphasized that on March 15, 1983, the United Nations decided to announce March 15 as "the World Consumer Rights Day"

Of which, it determined the eight basic rights of consumers including  the right to satisfy basic needs; the right to safety; the right to information; the right to choose; the right to listen; the right to appeal and compensation; the right to education and training on consumption; and the right to have a healthy and sustainable living environment.

In Vietnam, on July 10, 2015, the Prime Minister also decided to take March 15 as "Vietnam Consumer Rights Day".

In recent years, the Provincial People's Committee has instructed all levels and sectors to implement synchronously many important solutions to: improve the quality of consumer goods; control the market well; implement protection consumer rights.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee praised organizations and individuals for actively participating in advocacy and propaganda of legal policies and responding to the Consumer Rights Day in the province in the past time.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tang Binh required departments, sectors and localities to: have full and serious implementing tasks and solutions related to the best protection of consumers' interests in the province in accordance with the direction of the Provincial People's Committee; organize propaganda and strengthen inspection and control;  strictly handle in accordance with the law for organizations and individuals intentionally producing and trading goods without quality assurance, affecting consumers' rights and health.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also proposed that production and business establishments and individuals to provide goods and services in the province.

They should step up the application of advanced and modern technologies to produce goods; supply service quality assurance, safety, reasonable price, friendly and environmental protection; improve business culture, respect and listen to consumers' opinions.

At the same time, it is necessary to determine the protection of consumers' interests is to protect the reputation and sustainable development of enterprises.

It is recommended that consumers use their rights effectively, be aware of their legal responsibilities and benefits in the procurement and use of goods; boycott for goods of unknown origin, smuggled goods.

In case of detecting goods that fail to ensure quality, customers should inform state management agencies to organize inspection and examination strictly abide by law-breaking acts.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificate of Merit to 06 collectives that have achievements to protect consumers' rights in the province.
